Hello!
Glad to see you here on this site. Here are assorted
pictures of some of the best memories of my life.
I want to encourage everyone to keep on JAMM'EN. I
don't care what you think about your current abilities as a player,
because I do know one thing for certain, with the proper attitude, you can
do anything. With a true love of music you will always grow and the
music will always be there for you.
I try each and every day to discipline
myself on one rule. Play for just fifteen minutes. I know if I
do, by the time I'm finished, it is never fifteen but much longer and most
of the time I fall into a melody that is priceless. A
word of advice to all of you aspiring musicians. Practice with a
"click" everyday. If you do, after time it becomes a
internal clock that will enable your sub-conscious with the ability to
take over your playing. |

Pictured to the
left here, is me and my baby. She is a beautiful Buscarino
Strat and it is my favorite guitar ever. And, I've owned several
guitars over the years.
This guitar came to me in a very funny way. I was
working in Washington DC at Washington Music Center in 1994. My wife
was with child and you know how money is when that happens (maybe you dont
so I will say this, IT IS EXPENSIVE!!!). Well
anyway, as a employee my cost on this guitar when it came in the store was
over $1400 (usd). I couldn't afford her so she was sentenced to hang
in their used guitar area, which is used guitar hell, where she was beaten
to death. A year had passed and I really had lost touch and thought
she had already sold but then it happened. My boss came to me on a
Saturday morning and gave me a stack of sale tickets to have on
instruments before the store was to open. Tired from a show the
previous night and on diaper patrol after the gig, me and my coffee
proceeded to hang all of these tickets on all of these guitars until I
came to her. The price tag was $159 and that was it. Now, she
had been beaten to death. The neck was twisted and the action was
un-playable. To me, it didn't matter because I remembered her on the
first day and I saw a challenge. So I took her.
After three months of sitting in a humid bathroom with a
13 gauge set of strings, I managed to pull the neck back into shape so it
was playable. At the time, I used Kramer Beretta's and Les Paul's
with SoulSeeker onstage and my plans with her were really just to have a
strat just in case I ever needed one in session.
Well, we opened for Slaughter and my backup had been
stolen. We had a show the next day and I took her as a backup, just
in case. Into the first song of the next show, I popped a string on
my Les Paul and was forced to use her. It was magic and now it is
history. I love my guitar!

Pictured to the right
is my Ovation "Glen Cambell" model. A awesome instrument
that is featured my last record. This is the sweetest 12-string I
have ever played and truly magic. Every soundman that has mixed this
guitar say the same thing. "That is the best sounding
acoustic I've ever heard." I know, the purist doesn't subscribe
to that due to the construction and will say that " it is not a
MARTIN ", but for live usage, there is not a more comfortable guitar
onstage. Not to mention, the playability is perfect and the guitar
amplified is un-matched. Check out Ride
On and give it a listen. |

Pictured on the left with Chad Smith of the
"Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Washington DC "Hard Rock
Cafe". This was on my fathers birthday, February 14th, 1996.
Let me tell you something, Chad is awesome. He never had been on
stage with me and I NEVER played any of the "Peppers" music. Not
because I did not like them but I just never had to do it on stage.
I did not know Fred Traub was going to put me in this position to play on
stage with him but he pulled a fast one, had the entire stage set up and
got his way. We played in front of a packed house and as far as I am
concerned probably the most fun experience (natural) I have had on a stage
where the nerves never were in the picture. I was totally
comfortable in this unrehearsed situation and I believe it was because of
the DRUMMER. If I ever had the chance to do it again I would not
hesitate. |
Pictured on the right with Van
Halen. A wonderful Memory! This was the third time I had the
honor to meet Eddie. The coolest thing about this one was that I did
not know I was going to go until the day of the show. How is that for
luck? |
